چکیده

We present results from a combined experimental and numerical investigation of the flow around rectangular NACA 0012 wing, whose tip geometry is modified by addition perpendicular fin. The purpose this modification to generate system two closely-spaced concentrated vortices, instead familiar single trailing vortex. Experiments were carried out in water tunnel, where velocity measurements made near wake wing using Stereoscopic Particle Image Velocimetry, order determine characteristics vortex pair. Various configurations tested changing position, dimensions angle attack It was found that fin could strong secondary only when placed on pressure side wing. Visualisations surface streamlines oil painting wind as well simulations wingtip region, show separation occurs with suction side, even at low angles attack. Both experiments used influence parameter variations pair, respect its circulation ratio distance. Whereas co-rotating pairs similar be generated easily, fin's ability produce counter-rotating vortices rather limited. current have relevance context reducing impact which for rotor can lead blade-vortex interactions, causing fatigue aerodynamic noise.

Prediction of Extrusion Pressure in Vortex Extrusion Using a Streamline Approach

Vortex extrusion (VE) is a severe plastic deformation technique which is based on the synergies between high strain accumulation and high hydrostatic pressure. Such a high amount of pressure, places a mandate to seek the method for investigation of the load under processing conditions. For this, kinematically admissible velocity field and upper bound terms based on Bezier formulation are develo...

Air-Side Heat Transfer Augmentation of a Refrigerator Evaporator Using Vortex Generation

In air-cooling applications with frost production, heat exchanger performance is often air-side limited, because the two-phase flow of the refrigerant provides excellent heat transfer coefficients, and because designers typically use a large air-side fin spacing for frost tolerance. The large fin spacing prolongs operation of the heat exchanger by mitigating the effect of the accumulating frost...

Air-side heat transfer enhancement of a refrigerator evaporator using vortex generation

In most domestic and commercial refrigeration systems, frost forms on the air-side surface of the air-to-refrigerant heat exchanger. Frost-tolerant designs typically employ a large fin spacing in order to delay the need for a defrost cycle. Unfortunately, this approach does not allow for a very high air-side heat transfer coefficient, and the performance of these heat exchangers is often air-si...

Analysis of the Characteristics, Physical Concepts and Entropy Generation in a Turbulent Channel Flow Using Vortex Blob Method

In this paper, using vortex blob method (VBM), turbulent flow in a channel is studied and physical concepts of turbulence are obtained and discussed. At first, time-averaged velocities,  and , and then their fluctuations are calculated. To clarify turbulence structures, velocity fluctuations and  are plotted. It is observed that turbulence structures occupy different positions and move with con...

Multiple vortex-antivortex pair generation in magnetic nanodots

The interaction of a magnetic vortex with a rotating magnetic field causes the nucleation of a vortexantivortex pair leading to a vortex polarity switching. The key point of this process is the creation of a dip, which can be interpreted as a nonlinear resonance in the system of certain magnon modes with nonlinear coupling. The usually observed single-dip structure is a particular case of a mul...
